Alisa Akhba from South Caucasus discusses her experience of studying the Digital Media MA course at London Met, made possible by her Chevening Scholarship.
What did receiving this scholarship mean to you?
I am very fortunate that the Chevening Award Scholarship became available in South Caucasus. I feel very privileged to have been given the opportunity to study in London. The Chevening Award Scholarship has helped me to move closer towards my goal.
What do you like best about your course?
Digital media is the future! Using digital media and new technologies, can make your voice heard all around the world. You can change the minds and perceptions of a multitude of audiences using just one media platform.
Does anything surprise you about your course or London Met?
The thing that surprised me in a positive way is that my course is mostly practical. I think that this is the best approach, especially when it comes to new technologies. The best way to learn is to practise!
What do you like about life in London?
I found life in London very challenging and competitive. It makes me feel that if you can achieve something here, then you will be able to achieve it anywhere in the world.
What are your career plans once you complete your course?
I’m working on creating a PR company that would be oriented towards promoting partially recognised (or unrecognised) countries at an international level.
