The London Met policy and processes for external examining have been developed in consultation with the QAA Quality Code published in March 2018, the QAA Advice and Guidance on External Expertise published in November 2018 and London Met's Academic Regulations.
London Met aims to ensure that its provision meets nationally comparable standards and the quality of provision as well as the student experience is continuously reviewed, therefore, external examiners are a key element for the University. External examiners act as independent and impartial advisors, providing informed comments on the standards set and student achievement in relation to those standards. External examining is, therefore, an integral and very important part of London Met's quality assurance and enhancement.
