We understand our civic responsibility. We also recognise that within our local communities there is expertise and rich understanding of the complex problems we seek to address. Working in alignment with the University’s strategic plan and that of London Met Lab: Empowering London, the Centre will support the University in ensuring equitable civic engagement activities. We believe that as community-based educators this is invaluable both to the health of our local communities but also to ensuring the relevance of our academic practice. We will remain cognisant to changing social currents but resolute in our values, especially when this requires us to swim upstream.
