‘Universities are places where identity is formulated.’ - this statement was made during a training session I recently attended that really resonated with me. My own university experience was transformative in broadening my understanding of different races, sexuality and political positions. My first child is gay and exploring their identity, it is very important to me that they don’t face discrimination because of who they are. I am still learning about gender issues but am wholly committed to supporting communities to be able to live how they want to.
