AAD and SCDM course relocations in 2025

Welcome to your information hub for our course relocation project. This is where you'll find everything you need to know about the moves happening across our Schools of Art, Architecture and Design (AAD) and Computing and Digital Media (SCDM) for the 2025/26 academic year.

What’s happening?
Our Schools of Art, Architecture and Design (AAD), and Computing and Digital Media (SCDM) are strengthening their presence at our Holloway Campus. While many SCDM courses are already based there, alongside some AAD programmes, we're expanding this creative community during the 2025/26 academic year.

Creating Your New Spaces
We understand that your teaching and creative spaces are central to your work. So we're taking a thoughtful approach to developing each location, combining careful refurbishment with new, purpose-built facilities.

You'll find your familiar equipment and tools moving with you – we're reinvesting in what works well while adding cutting-edge facilities where they will make the biggest impact. This sustainable approach means you keep the trusted resources you value while gaining access to the latest technology for your course.

Your New Locations

Aldgate
Our Architecture, Interiors, Furniture & Product Design courses and our Foundation programme will continue to be based here, with workshops and studios being refreshed and repurposed to improve your teaching spaces while keeping the equipment and setup you're familiar with.

The Accelerator, Shoreditch
While London Met has maintained a presence in Shoreditch for over two decades through the Accelerator's support for business innovation, September 2025 marks an exciting development as we bring teaching to the area for the first time. Our Fashion, Textiles and Fine Art courses will establish a new creative learning community in this vibrant district.

Holloway Campus
Photography and Visual Communication will join AAD courses already running at Holloway, and the School of Computing and Digital Media, creating opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and share specialist facilities. This means access to an expanded range of technical resources and expertise.

Timeline for 2025
The journey to our new spaces follows a carefully planned schedule. January through March sees the completion of refurbishment at Shoreditch and continued development at Aldgate and Holloway. During June and July, there will be opportunities to tour the new spaces and begin move-planning.

The main relocations will take place in the summer, giving us time to set up and settle in before welcoming students during the 2025/26 academic year. Throughout this period, we'll provide regular updates and support to help you prepare for the move.

Supporting Your Move
This move is an exciting time for the University, but with courses moving across different locations, it's not as straightforward as some relocation projects. The Relocation Project Team has put comprehensive support in place and there will be regular opportunities for you to ask questions and find out more throughout the timeline of the project.

  • Each School has a dedicated Move Champion to help represent your specific needs and to keep you informed.
  • Regular drop-in sessions offer opportunities to see the latest plans and ask questions. These informal sessions run throughout the term – no booking is required. Visit our events calendar to find a time that works for you.
  • This hub will be regularly updated to answer your questions and bring you the latest news from the project.
  • Regular updates via email to all staff and students.

For staff: Getting Ready
Preparing for the move is straightforward. Start by reviewing your area's moving schedule and attending a drop-in session. Later in the year, we will provide you with resources to help you plan for the transition, and we'll provide clear guidance about packing and equipment transfer closer to the move date.

We're providing professional moving services, IT support for equipment setup, and orientation sessions in the new spaces. Everything has been planned to make your transition as smooth as possible.

Stay Informed
We'll keep you updated through regular email bulletins and updates on this hub. School meetings and drop-in sessions provide opportunities to ask questions and share your thoughts. The Met Connect newsletter will also feature regular updates about our progress.

Need More Information?
Your Move Champion is your first point of contact for specific questions about your area's relocation. Drop-in sessions offer a chance to discuss any aspects of the move in person.
