Date: 14 December 2017
Students on The Cass’ Theatre Arts Programme (Theatre and Performance BA and Theatre and Film BA) were recently visited by acclaimed actor and writer, Richard Katz, who is a long standing collaborator of the programme’s associate company, Complicate.
The talk was delivered as part of Make a Living Week, which is The Cass’s annual festival of entrepreneurship and employability.
Richard talked about his impressive career, spanning blockbuster movies and multimedia performance. He engaged the students with entertaining anecdotes from his life in the performing arts industry.
The talk explored the idea of a versatile “portfolio” career in the arts, and the challenges and gratifications of this.
Theatre Arts at the Cass hosts a busy calendar of industry events of this kind.
Senior Lecturer Dr Jacek Ludwig Scarso said: "These events are an invaluable addition to our courses and prove that learning does not just happen in class-time.
“We encourage our students to start making their professional contacts while on the course, through initiatives of this kind. We want them to experience as soon as possible the reality of the professional industry."
