Film and Television Studies Senior Lecturer joins major new collaborative research project in Paris

Dr Karen McNally, senior lecturer and course leader of the BA Film and Television Studies course, took part in the first of a series of conferences and workshops being held as part of a major international research project on the film musical.
The project is being led by scholars at the University of Paris, and brings together an international group of specialists from Europe and the United States drawn from the fields of film studies and musicology.
The aim of the project is to collaborate on and open up new areas of research on the film musical, to produce a series of bilingual publications, and to compile a database of information on the genre's films.
Karen brings her specialist research on star imagery, multimedia musical performance and race in the film musical to the project.
