Dr Karen McNally publishes article on Frank Sinatra in the US edition of The Conversation.
Dr Karen McNally, Senior Lecturer in Film and Television Studies, has published an article on Frank Sinatra in the US edition of The Conversation. The article, entitled "Sinatra's films shattered the postwar myth of the white American male", explores Sinatra's image in Hollywood film and its wider cultural significance in disrupting the postwar definition of American masculinity. It was published in commemoration of Frank Sinatra's centenary on 12 December 2015.
Dr McNally has published extensively on Frank Sinatra. Her book When Frankie Went to Hollywood: Frank Sinatra and American Male Identity is published by University of Illinois Press.
