Sports Therapy students offer much needed post-race massages to many weary legs of London Marathon participants.
Our sports therapy students were at various venues on Sunday 13th April for the 2014 Virgin Money London Marathon providing post-race massage for many pairs of tired legs. This service was provided free of charge to help the runners who were raising money for Oxfam, Ray of Sunshine, Age UK and Cancer Research.
The students not only did a fantastic job on the day but also helped organise the event under the guidance of Rachael Storr, London Met’s clinical coordinator. The students created a great atmosphere during the massages and were clapping every new runner as they arrived at the venue.
This event offered valuable work experience for the students as well as counting towards their 3rd year clinical placement module. The day was a great success, with runners and students alike benefiting.
