David Haziz, the founder of arbor + co, was named in the Workplace Interiors category.
Date: 25 August 2021
Interior design BA alumni David Haziz, the founder of London-based interior design studio arbor + co, has been named as one of the Mixology21 Project of the Year finalists, within the Workplace Interiors category. The Mixology Awards is a nationwide commercial interiors awards ceremony, celebrating the best of commercial interior design for the past year.
David and his studio were nominated for their project for IDP Connect, a division of IDP Education, a global leader in student marketing and recruitment. The project took place in Putney Bridge, where the studio installed an inspiring work environment that will allow the company to adapt to the latest government guidance on social distancing without significant structural changes.
David said: “The open-plan workspace we created for IDP Connect was restructured and redesigned, reducing 20 permanents desks to create two agile and hot-desking areas. The concept will allow the organisation to shift to a new working method by allowing more staff to use hot-desking and agile meeting corners by implementing a smart booking system.
“It was a wonderful surprise to the team and me to be named in this year’s finals. Working on this project has been a learning experience, dealing with challenges such as the pandemic and working throughout lockdowns. The fact we developed the concept before the pandemic and based on the client's needs and its employer's survey, we suggested in advance the idea of combining work from the office and remotely for its employees, which turned out to be more relevant than ever.”
David will find out if arbor + co are the winners of the category on 16 September 2021, at the awards night.
