It is a fantastic opportunity for the local community to come together and celebrate a new five-year collaborative project between London Metropolitan University, Lavazza Coffee Company, and Arsenal FC. The project, called "Learn to Dream" supports North Londoners to pursue their dreams and ambitions. As part of the project, artist Gabriel Pitcher and arts collective Wood Street Walls recently created an eye-catching mural across from the stadium.
Through the power of art, the mural showcases two young people whose stories are tied to North London, London Met student Maria Epam and Islington local, Lee McEwan. “Being chosen as a subject for the mural is such an honour. I regularly volunteer to work on creative projects, so I feel deeply connected to community projects that seek to inspire young people.” said Maria Epam, Art and Design student at the London Metropolitan University.
Event organiser and Director of London Engagement at London Met, Sophie Cloutterbuck said “London Met University is committed to supporting the local community and creating opportunities for all. The university has a strong presence in Islington and is excited to collaborate with Lavazza and Arsenal FC to bring this event to the community.”
The event will take place on Friday 5 May, from 2pm to 6pm and is open to everyone, admission is free.
