A team of students from the Guildhall School of Business and Law ranked highly in the Bloomberg Trading Challenge for 2022.

London Met University's investment team, Mission Possible, has made history by ranking 6th in Europe and 11th in the global ranking of the Bloomberg Trading Challenge 2022, out of 946 participants. This remarkable achievement demonstrates the team's outstanding skills and expertise in trading and investment, and is a testament to the quality of education and training offered at the University.
The Bloomberg Trading Challenge is a prestigious competition that challenges university students to apply their knowledge of finance, investment, and trading in a simulated real-world environment. Participants are given a virtual portfolio of $1 million and must trade in stocks, bonds, and currencies, among other assets, over a period of eight weeks. The goal is to generate the highest returns and beat the competition.
The Mission Possible team comprised of five students Jely Naranjo Lopez, Ligita Torubarova, Inmaculada Sahanoho Tunkara, Makiki Ngamukumu, and led by their Team Captain Lidia Grzesko-Lange, rose to the challenge and excelled in all aspects of the competition. e. They were supported by mentor and tutor Dr Lan Jiang, from the Guildhall School of Business and Law (GSBL). The students demonstrated a deep understanding of financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and trading strategies, as well as strong analytical and communication skills. They also showed excellent teamwork and collaboration, working together to make informed and timely decisions.
The team's success in the competition is a result of months of hard work and preparation, having spent long hours researching and analysing financial data, studying market trends and news, and developing trading strategies. Their dedication and commitment paid off, as they outperformed many prestigious universities from around the world, including New York University, University College Dublin, and the University of Nottingham.
