Master class by Marc Smith and Tim Stafford of (Heart) Productions

Students briefed by Marc Smith, CEO and Tim Stafford, Project Director of London based (heart) Productions

Students in the second year of their Events Management degree were briefed by Marc Smith, CEO and Tim Stafford, Project Director of London based (heart) Productions, a fully integrated live communications and experiential marketing agency.

Marc’s briefing focused on how brand values and messages are operationalised through the services of creative design, technical production and event management that his agency offers. He provided some fascinating insights into his work on film premiers such as The Rush World Premier and the mega events such as the Coca Cola Torch Relay for the Sochi Olympics.

Marc also talked about his early career and how a work placement in the events department of the British Red Cross led to organising events for the UK prime minister and then to starting his own company (heart) Productions.

Each year (heart) Productions runs a master class with students taking BA Events Management. They also offer work placement opportunities and for some, this has led to full time employment.

Marc said, "As a growing agency our doors are always open to young new talent and we value the vocational expertise that these courses can offer."

Tom Lunt module leader said of the briefing; “The insights Marc and Tim were able to offer us into live experiential marketing were invaluable and the opportunities that students get to do a placement with (heart) productions give them a chance to see how this part of the events industry really works.”
