London Met launched a short course on diplomatic interpreting this month.

London Met’s Introduction to Diplomatic Interpreting (Short Course) has proven to be a hit with interpreters.
The course aims to give interpreters the opportunity to learn and practice techniques in a diplomatic environment, covering areas such as political talks, consular situations, visa interviews and diplomatic receptions.
Overall the course received very positive feedback. Participant, Suliman Haroun, said: “This course is an enriching exercise for interpreters. It covers a plethora of interpreting topics that can help interpreters.”
The course allowed its participants to develop their own performance, thanks to detailed feedback and guidance from lecturers and interpreters, as well as giving them the opportunity to identify key areas for personal development.
In addition to this, it made them consider more specific skills that they would need to develop in the future.
