Yinka Ilori transforms Piccadilly Circus with his latest installation

London Met Product and Furniture Design BA graduate unveils spectacular new artwork inspired by the iconic London landmark

Award-winning British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori MBE has unveiled his latest installation in the heart of London's West End. Entitled "Good Things Come to Those Who Wait," the vibrant artwork is based around the capital’s iconic Piccadilly Circus. 

Running from 20 to 25 August, Yinka’s installation features two Pegasus-inspired sculptures, each standing an impressive 23 feet tall. These colourful, winged horses mark the first significant addition to this iconic London landmark in over 130 years. 

Internationally acclaimed London Met graduate 

Yinka has gained international recognition for his bold, colorful designs that often blend his Nigerian heritage with contemporary British culture. His distinctive style has earned him numerous awards, including an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for his services to design. 

Since finishing his Product and Furniture Design BA at London Met Yinka Ilori has established himself as one of the UK's most exciting artists. His distinctive style has attracted widespread acclaim, leading to numerous awards. Most notably, he was honored with an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2021 for his outstanding contributions to design. 

The ‘Good Things Come to Those Who Wait’ installation is part of a broader mission to transform the West End into an accessible open-air gallery led by an organisation called Art of London. Families visiting the area are encouraged to engage with the artwork through complimentary colouring sheets available during lunchtime and online, fostering creativity among younger audiences.
