After a hiatus due to Covid-19 Nelson College students received their diplomas.
Date: 5 August 2022
Nelson College, an independent college founded in 2009, held a graduation ceremony, celebrating the success of students. Students who had studied their Business HND, and some who had gone on to their BA (Hons) Business (Top up), attended the City Gates venue to receive their well-deserved scrolls from the College’s Principal, Professor Geoffrey Alderman.
The school, which is partnered with London Met’s Guildhall School of Business and Law, offers teaching for Pearson Higher National Diploma in Business and in Hospitality Management, as well as Foundation Degrees and BA (Hons) one-year “Top-Up” courses.
Speeches were made by the Principal, Professor Geoffrey Alderman, Mr Aaron Porter, Chair of the Board of Governance, Mr David Douglas, Head of Programme Delivery, Mr Mudassar Mehmood Academic Manager, and Mrs Margaret Amakwah, Programme Leader. Perhaps the two most well received speeches, however, came from the two elected ‘Best Students’ Francis Kofi Brebson and Muhammad Usman Sethi who spoke on behalf of the student body. The occasion also recognised those lecturers who had been voted as best lecturers by students.
In 2019 the College was awarded Silver Rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF); Nelson College London delivers high quality teaching, learning and outcomes for its students that consistently exceed rigorous national quality requirements for UK higher education. The College is also committed to the professional development of their teaching staff and is a member of the Higher Education Academy.
