Ella Merriman, Furniture and Product Design BA grad and previous winner of London Met's Big Idea Challenge, has won the Young Innovators Award for 2021/22.

Ella Merriman, an alumna of Furniture and Product Design BA at London Metropolitan University has been named the winner of the prestigious Young Innovators Awards 2021/22
The award from Innovate UK, The Prince's Trust and KTN supports young businesses with a grant, business mentoring and a living allowance for a full 12 months.
Ella, who was previously named grand champion in London Met’s Big Idea Challenge in 2020, received the award in recognition of the development of Merri Intimates, a new underwear brand offering attractive and comfortable organic cotton underwear for women who suffer from UTIs and thrush.
Talking about the success, Ella said, "This award is going to help us take MERRI Intimates to the next level and support us in developing our products, growing our audience and continuing to make sexy, organic cotton underwear that supports our bodies!
"I am so excited to continue working with the most wonderful humans, [colleagues] Holly and Amelia, without whom none of this could have happened. I'd also like to say a big thank you to Solène Anglaret, Lynn Viatge, Carolene Thompson, Richard Roberts and Sophia Ali for helping me on this journey already!"
