Shrabani Bhattacharjee

Empowering communities by helping them with their financial management and organisational structure is one of Shrabani Bhattacharjee's passions. Shrabani is working as a KTP Associate – a role involving a unique partnership between charitable organisation London Funders and London Metropolitan University.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am Shrabani Bhattacharjee, a dedicated professional with a deep passion for civil society and social impact. With a background in finance and management, I have always been drawn to roles that allow me to make a tangible difference in communities.

What brought you to this role as a KTP Associate with London Met?

I was drawn to the KTP Associate role at London Met due to its unique blend of practical application and academic research, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with London Funders to develop innovative funding models that address critical social issues in London.

Tell us more about the KTP you manage.

The KTP project I manage involves establishing a novel subsidiary charity business model for London Funders. This includes developing an innovative pooled funding/finance model, creating a new leadership and governance structure, and focusing on organisational development to enhance the impact of funding in London’s civil society.

What is your biggest passion in life and where did that passion come from?

My biggest passion is empowering communities through effective financial strategies and governance. This passion emerged from my experiences working in the social impact sector, where I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of well-structured funding and leadership in improving lives.

What drives you?

I am driven by the desire to make a meaningful difference in society, to empower communities, and to create sustainable solutions to social issues. The impact of my work on people’s lives motivates me to strive for excellence.

What has been the proudest moment in your life?

One of the proudest moments in my life was leading a project at a social impact organisation where we successfully improved fund allocation efficiency and significantly enhanced client satisfaction. Seeing the tangible, positive effects of our work on the communities we served was incredibly fulfilling and reaffirmed my commitment to making a difference through effective financial and project management strategies.

Tell us a little bit about your interests outside of work and why they are important to you.

Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering and participating in multicultural events. These activities are important to me because they allow me to contribute to diverse communities, learn from different cultures, and stay connected to the values of inclusivity and social responsibility.

What’s next in your career?

Next in my career, I aim to continue developing my expertise in strategic management and social impact, with a focus on scaling innovative funding models. I aspire to take on leadership roles that enable me to drive larger-scale initiatives and foster sustainable development.
