Alex is a specialist in restoration and conservation practice and is a Lecturer on the Furniture and Product Design - BA at the School of Art, Architecture and Design.

Alex Schouvaloff

Alex is a specialist in restoration and conservation practice, especially of surface finishes. He runs his own private restoration, conservation and interior design practice. He is the committee editor of the ICON Gilding & Decorative Surface Group.

Alex also lectures in wood conservation and japanning at the City & Guilds of London Art School, and is a private conservator specialising in lacquerwork, japanning, fine inlay and finishing.
