Making sense of Education is a Level 4 core module, introducing the new BA students to education studies. It comprises critical understanding of ethnicity, race, gender, social class, multilingualism and inclusion with reference to education. The module also studies history of education in England and looks into the Theories of Learning besides other things. This module is undergraduate student's first step in the field of education.
Gender and Education is another very interesting optional module for Level 6 students. The module explores debates around gender and education through theoretical responses and empirical research to understand the issues of gender in education sector specifically and in society in general. It identifies key sociological and philosophical studies around gender and introduces students to the construction of gendered identities in the world of education.
Education, Sport and Health in Society offer an historical perspective on relationship between sports and education. The module further explores educational ideologies with reference to play/ sports. It critically evaluates the significance of sports in present day education and analyses current controversial dimensions in the area.
