Dr Anfal Sharif lectures in our School of Human Sciences and contributes to the module development for the Biomedical Science (Distance Learning) MSc.
More about Dr. Anfal Sharif
Anfal has a Biomedical Science BSc (first-class Honours) and a PhD in Oncology.
Her PhD research focused on exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying chemoresistance in cancer at the Cellular and Molecular Immunology Research Centre.
Anfal has taught in biosciences (biomedical science) at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and contributes to teaching cancer immunotherapy, cell biology, immunology and infectious disease.
Her research involved explaining the underlying molecular mechanisms by which cancer-derived microvesicles contribute to cancer development and progression. She has an interest in exploiting a multitude of cell signalling pathways in the hope of paving the way for an attractive chemotherapeutic avenue.
