Dr Anil Kumar

Prof. Anil Kumar is a Professor of Operations, Supply Chain, and Business Analytics at the Guildhall School of Business, London Metropolitan University, UK.

He has over fourteen years of experience in teaching and research. Before joining London Metropolitan Unviersity, he was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Decision Sciences at the Centre for Supply Chain Improvement, University of Derby, UK. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science from ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, India, and a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mathematics from Kurukshetra University, India.

He also completed an MBA and qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) in June 2011. Prof. Kumar's significant contributions to research earned him recognition in the ‘World Ranking Top 2%’ of researchers by Stanford University-Elsevier in 2022 and 2023. He is also a Section Editor for Heliyon-Information Science (Elsevier), a journal indexed in SCIE/SSCI and Scopus.

Anil is an accomplished academic with a strong track record of high teaching evaluations and a commitment to excellence in education. He has developed and led courses that respond to industry demands and compliance requirements, with live student projects published in ABS and ABDC-ranked journals. His expertise spans artificial intelligence, machine learning, Python, and business applications, significantly enhancing his analytical abilities.
 
Anil has supervised more than 100 research projects, many of which have been published in prestigious ABS, ABDC, and SCI-indexed journals. Passionate about interdisciplinary research, he encourages students to engage in professional development, attend conferences, and build networks. His goal as a supervisor is to cultivate well-rounded academics, ensuring they thrive beyond their theses.
To be passionate about impactful research, Anil's research focuses on sustainability, sustainable operation and supply chains, sustainable development, circular/net zero economy, industry 4.0/5.0, and human capital in supply chain and operations. He also contributes to the teaching and supervision of students in their various research projects and scholarly activities.
 
Anil has contributed to more than 150 research articles in CABS, ABDC and SCI indexed journals. He's been awarded the best research papers at various international conferences including the International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management in 2020, the European International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management in 2019 and the National Conference at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Roorkee in 2013.
 
He's also published eight books in the areas of sustainable procurement, circular economy and business analytics. On top of this, Anil's Research Gate score is significantly higher than other members' scores.
 
In his current position, he's responsible and accountable for contributing high quality and impactful research, building industry partnerships, as well as significantly contributing to help build the University's reputation of excellence in operations, supply chain management and business analytics. His main responsibilities include:

2. Performing world-leading impactful research in the areas of operations and supply chain management, which includes sustainability, sustainable supply chain management, sustainable manufacturing, industry 4.0, sustainable development, circular economy, sustainability and SMEs
