Dr Sophie Corser

Sophie Corser is a Research and Postgraduate Office Coordinator. She is responsible for London Met Research and Knowledge Exchange webpages and supports the University's research community with events coordination and external funding applications.

Dr Sophie Corser

Before joining London Met in 2024, Sophie held postdoctoral research fellowships at University College Cork (2021-23) and University College Dublin (2019-21). She has a PhD in English from Goldsmiths, University of London (2018).

Sophie's research on issues of reading in modern and contemporary literature and criticism has been funded by the Irish Research Council, the Leverhulme Trust, Smith College Libraries Special Collections, and the Goldsmiths Graduate Fund.

Her published and forthcoming work covers topics including queer reading, contemporary Irish women's writing, the labour of reading, romcoms, classical reception, and James Joyce's Ulysses. She is the author of The Reader's Joyce: Ulysses, Authorship and the Authority of the Reader (Edinburgh University Press, 2022) and an audiobook guide to Ulysses for the app Audrey.
