Marcus Bowerman
With over 25 years of professional experience, Marcus Bowerman has worked at number of management levels in the development and production of bespoke products and the delivery of services and training centred on the creative industries. This has evolved from the individual responsibility for production through to the management of project teams, in both the private and public sector.
His experience extends from the prototype development of toys and games for multinational companies, through to being part of a team delivering global interactive brand installations at major sporting events.
Marcus’ formative hands-on workshop experience has been invaluable in gaining knowledge in the use of equipment, techniques of production, materials and their value in the design process. In the past 15 years this has been combined successfully with the resources of CAD and the integration of CNC technologies into the production process.
Building on his experience as the manager of the Digital Manufacturing Centre at Metropolitan Works, Marcus now works with the highly skilled technical staff in the workshops and studios of Make Works. Supporting students and staff at the School to realise the potential of the workshops and technical facilities as places for designing and making.
