As Associate Director of the Centre and Head of Fair Outcomes, Owen leads the University's work to address differential outcomes for underrepresented or marginalised student groups and to create an inclusive and representative educational experience for all at London Met.
With a background in environmental and social sustainability, Owen has been applying his evidence-led change management approach to addressing disparities in student outcomes within higher education for the last six years. Prior to joining London Met, Owen was the Student Achievement Manager at Kingston University where he led a pioneering approach to closing the BAME awarding gap which received national recognition. Owen has also consulted with numerous universities in the UK and informed sector agencies such as the Office for Students, Advance HE, the Higher Education Race Action Group, and the National Education Opportunities Network.
Prior to his career in higher education, Owen headed an international sustainability consultancy and was the founding director of a digital media company. He holds an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability from Zurich Business School.
