Alcina Kouassi works in an advocacy role at Hestia, a company that supports adults and children in times of crisis
Alcina graduated from the Community Development and Leadership BSc (now called Leadership in Communities BSc) in 2020. She talks to us about her degree.
"Shortly after graduation, I began paid employment at Hestia. My role is to advocate for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, forced labour and prostitution. I make sure they have safe accommodation, legal representation, medical and mental support and educational opportunities.
"It's a place where I feel I am learning every day on a personal, social and technical level. I'm glad my degree gave me the right tools to be up to the standards of the demands of my current job. I am very grateful for this!"
