London Met was pleased to welcome Venezualan student Belkis Osal onto the MBA programme. Here Belkis talks about her reasons for studying at London Met.
What made you choose London and London Met in particular?
I wanted to experience life in the ‘big city’. London not only promised this, but also offered me the opportunity to improve my English skills. London Met supported me in applying and the admissions staff were very helpful.
Since you have been on the course, what has changed?
After a year-and-a-half of living in London, I’ve definitely learnt how to be more competitive. I’ve developed new skills through studying my MBA and made friends with people from around the world. My course has given me useful tools to understand the UK business environment and to be comfortable working in an international business environment.
Have you had any work experience whilst on the MBA?
I found an internship during the summer break and I’ve been fortunate enough to still be working with them. I really enjoyed the Strategy and Project Management modules more than anything else. My lecturers at London Met have a strong background in business and management and are very knowledgeable about the courses they teach. Most importantly though, they are passionate about teaching and I love this.
What is your career path now you've graduated?
Now that I’ve graduated, I’m pursuing a career as a project manager here in London. London Met has definitely provided me with an affordable, quality education which has opened doors to a global environment and has given me useful tools to pursue my career in business.
