Cathy Skeggs, award-winning author and founder of Treasure Hunts in London and City Adventurers gives us her take as a mature student on her Events Management degree.

Why did you choose to study at London Met?

I wanted a university that I could easily commute to. I also spoke to the head of the course, Justin Lance, who said that London Met had a diverse mix of students from all backgrounds and ages and I would not feel out of place as a mature student.

What did you like best about your course?

Learning about all types of different events and interacting with other students and staff.

Do you have any top tips for students?

Make the most of the experience... and don’t judge a book by its cover!

Did anything surprise you about your course at London Met?

That the economics I had learnt when I studied to become an auditor are now disregarded and taught as history!

Where are you now – what is your current role?

I am the award-winning author of What are we going to do next?, a book on social team-building. I am also founder of Invitation To Events, which organise clue-based social team-building experiences and Treasure Hunts in London that run themed heritage-based treasure hunts within Greater London, in which you solve clues and puzzles whilst discovering more about London.
