A talk by Hadrian Garrard and Katherine McNeil, as part of the Who Cares? Talks.
For the final talk of 2016, we will debate on the role of two very different organisations in facilitating projects that connect designers and their local communities.
Hadrian Garrard will talk to us about the projects commissioned by Create London that explore the ways artists can contribute to the lives of people in East London. Some of these projects include work by the collective Assemble.
Katherine McNeil will present on behalf of Architecture for Humanity, an organisation that helps to connect community-led projects with volunteer designers. Based on her years of experience, she will be talking to us about the ingredients for successful community projects and future scenarios in which such projects might develop.
