WHO CARES? The Cass explores Humanitarianism
For the first event in the WHO CARES? 2018-19 series, join us on Monday 4 February 2019 at 6.30pm at The Cass for the London book launch of:
This peer-reviewed, multi-author volume is edited by Jaime Royo Olid and Dr Shailaja Fennel and supported by an editorial board - Lara Davies, Reinhard Skinner, Ramona Miranda and Tushani Kalugalagedera. The book comprises 27 chapters, is produced by 46 authors and has a preface by leading scholar and practitioner of humanitarian and development studies Professor Himanshu Parikh. It is also supported by the European Union and UNHabitat.
Drawing upon perspectives in relation to the experience of civil war, internal displacement, and the aftermath of the Indian Ocean tsunami, join us to consider how reconstruction after disaster can be approached in more meaningful ways by a broad range of people, from international experts to local residents. Speakers for the evening will include author Jaime Royo Olid, Himanshu Parikh, Dr Matthew Barac, and El Parker.
Up to 50 free copies of the book will be distributed to those registered through Eventbrite.
