UofA32 - Practice Research Portfolios

About the Event

Building a Practice Research Portfolio (to Publish via Issuu & for REF)

This event was showed how to create an effective practice research portfolio, to be published via Issuu, and as a potential 'ouput' for REF2029. Participants gained clarity on key terms, learnt the role of portfolios in REF, and explored strategies for showcasing practice research effectively in an alternative but robust way to the traditional route of publication in academic journals.

Who organised the workshop?

We are an interdisciplinary group from AAD whose strategic goals are to empower AAD's practitioners to further their careers as researchers if they wish, in order to maximise the Unit's success in REF2029.

The Unit of Assessment 32 REF Panel: Jessica Kelly, Rachal Bradley, Jacek Ludwik Scarso and Jane Clossick lead the workshop.

Who was it for?

Anyone in AAD (and beyond) who fits into the REF Unit of Assessment 32 (Art and Design: History, Practice and Theory), was strongly advised to attend this workshop, particularly if they liked to have research hours in  AWAM.

If you undertake practice in any form (creative, artistic, design, architectural and action research), understanding how to structure a research portfolio is an essential skill for furthering your research career at London Met.
