The focus of this research group is to improve the health and wellbeing of our community and protect our planet. The underlying theme of our group is to ensure nutritious, safe and sustainable food is readily available for all. This encapsulates research that addresses reducing health inequalities, nutrition transition, food insecurity and obesity.
The core interests of the group are to:
- develop innovative nutrition assessment tools that can be used to identify and address the risk of chronic diseases
- deliver community interventions to improve health outcomes
- design and evaluate innovative schemes to redistribute food surplus
