Dr Cassandra Terry (School of Human Sciences) and Dr Fiona French (School of Computing and Digital Media) were invited to present their research on Non-invasive methods for personalised facial muscle physiotherapy using virtual reality at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, an event organised to celebrate World Parkinson’s day. It was co-organised by Parkinson’s UK, four Scotland Parkinson’s Research Interest Groups (RIG), NHS Scotland Neuroprogressive and Dementia Network and the universities of Dundee, Edinburgh and Robert Gordon Aberdeen.
Cassandra was also invited to be on the expert Q&A panel where she answered questions from the audience about Parkinson’s research and working with volunteers (Patient and Public Involvement).
Cassandra, Fiona and their team have also been invited to write an article for The Biochemist (to be published in September), present their research at Parkinson's UK's Lewisham Support Group event on 18 July, do a podcast for The North of Scotland Parkinson’s Research Podcast Series (to be published September) and to talk about their research with the Parkinson’s walking football group at Arsenal Football Club in September.
