TV studios
With our specialist facilities you'll be able to work with lights, cameras and green screens to practice for real world scenarios including live news broadcasts and interview situations.
Lecturers will share their knowledge, instruct you on how to use the sound systems and give advice about how to record your programmes live, with the TriCaster camera equipment and live stream TV studio content.
Radio and audio recording studios
In 2014, we invested £15,000 to upgrade and re-equip our radio facility to help you gain career enhancing studio experience. Our state-of-the-art digital equipment includes the Studer1500, an on-air digital mixing console.
The new design has helped many students gain the confidence to explore the broadcast industry further, with additional voice training sessions with professional presenters.
Our IT technicians will help you with the equipment, and we have previously been visited by professionals from the likes of the BBC who have also provided further advice.
Who uses these facilities?
The TV and recording studios are often used by our film, journalism and TV students. However, there are many opportunities for students on other courses to take part in workshops to see how the equipment works.
