In the run-up to Mother's Day 2019 we wanted to celebrate some of the student mums we have studying at London Met. In this interview, we speak to mum-of-one, Scarlett Yoxall.
We spoke to Advertising, Marketing Communications and Public Relations student, Scarlett Yoxall, about what it's like being a mother and a student at the same time.
How do you juggle being both a mother and student?
Organisation. Time management and everything is key. If I don’t have things in place, things don’t work out.
What is your proudest moment at university so far?
Within the first few weeks of starting university at London Met, I became a class representative and I’ve followed that on for the last three years. Also recently I got a job as a Social Media Ambassador at London Met as well.
What advice would you give to mothers who are about to start university?
If this is your dream, you need to follow it. At the end of the day, your future is for you and your child as well. Don’t put your feelings aside for your child. You’re creating a future for both of you so carry on and do what you need to do.
Can you sum up your university experience in one word?
Unique.
