Urmi Dutta-Roy joined London Metropolitan University’s Board of Governors as an Independent Governor in May 2021. She is the Chair of the People, Finance and Resources Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee.
Urmi is an award-winning senior finance professional with extensive experience gained in large publicly listed companies across both the commercial and corporate spheres. She is a CFO at privately owned global publishing house The Folio Society.
Urmi has an MSc in HRM and Organisational Analysis from King’s College London and an MBA (specialising in financial strategy) from Warwick Business School. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and her passions include using arts and cultural forums to facilitate social change. Urmi has been involved in a range of projects, from raising awareness of mental health issues and advancing diversity and inclusion practices in organisations, to writing policy papers promoting gender equality in the workplace. An advocate of lifelong learning and an eternal student at heart, Urmi can often be found contemplating her next learning adventure.
